San Marco to Rialto Venice Tour Special New Year's 3 Nights 4 Days 2027 with THY
Day 1: Istanbul - Venice
Meeting in front of the THY counter at Istanbul Airport International Terminal at 05:00. Departure to Venice at 08:00 with Turkish Airlines flight TK1867. Arrival at Venice Airport at 08:35, then we head by vaporetto from Tronchetto harbor, the final transportation point for vehicles, to the historic island. After a pleasant vaporetto ride, we get off near San Marco Square, the historic center of the city, and begin our tour among the canals. Here, all the vehicles we are used to seeing in daily life, such as police cars, ambulances, garbage trucks, municipal buses, etc., have been replaced by boats in this area free of motor vehicles. While walking from the shore of the Slaves to San Marco Square, you can see the Venice prison and the "Ponte dei Sospiri" Bridge of Sighs, which connects the prison and the Doge’s Palace, San Giorgio Island directly opposite the bridge, the twin columns called the city’s entrance gate in the main square of the Doge’s Palace façade, and the statues on these columns, which are the symbol of Venice. The square where St. Mark’s Basilica is located was called "the most beautiful square in the world" by Napoleon. Although the construction of the cathedral was completed in the 9th century, it took until the 17th century to reach its current form. The 4 bronze horses you will see on the main façade were brought from Istanbul during the return from the Second Crusade. During your free time, you can watch the statues on top of the clock tower strike the bell every hour, and you can also go up the bell tower to see the whole Venice panorama from above.
