Grand Quartet: Benelux, Switzerland, France & Germany – 7 Nights with Turkish Airlines, Departing October 25 (Special Date: October 29)
Day 1: Istanbul – Basel – Strasbourg
Meeting at the Turkish Airlines counter in front of the Istanbul Airport International Departures Terminal 3 hours before departure. After baggage, ticket and passport procedures, we depart for Basel at 08:50 on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1923. Upon our arrival at 10:00 local time, our Basel city tour begins with our waiting vehicle. Basel, the third most populous city in Switzerland after Zurich and Geneva, is a magnificent city that combines both modern and historical elements; although small in area, it holds many treasures within. During our city tour, we will visit notable sites including the Basel Minster, which houses the tomb of the famous Renaissance writer Erasmus from the Netherlands, the main square Marktplatz, the Government Building, and Hotel Les Trois Roi. After our tour, we proceed to Strasbourg, one of France's most beautiful cities and the pearl of the Alsace region. While exploring Strasbourg, you will feel as if you are traveling through history in Europe's largest cobbled medieval quarter. With its fairy-tale-like nature and historic structures, wooden houses, medieval churches, cathedrals, and numerous works of art, it is a place well worth seeing. Additionally, Strasbourg holds historical significance as the birthplace of the French national anthem "La Marseillaise" and presents itself as a city where French architecture blends with Alsatian culture. During our city tour, we will also visit Strasbourg Cathedral, Rohan Palace, Kleber Square, and the Petit France district adorned with traditional Alsatian houses. After our tour, guests who wish may join the Fairy Tale Villages of Grandiose Alsace (Eguisheim & Colmar & Kaysersberg & Riquewihr) tour. (110 Euro). We will want to take photos at every opportunity throughout this tour. Our first stop is Eguisheim. Awarded the title of "Favorite French Village" in 2013, Eguisheim is a village where history and nature dance together. Its colorful houses reflecting the typical architecture of the Alsace region create Eguisheim's postcard appearance. After our tour, we head to Colmar, famous for its medieval historic buildings, Gothic-style churches, and vibrant houses. While strolling through Colmar's streets, which have been remarkably well-preserved to this day, we will visit St. Martin Cathedral built entirely of pink stone, Petite Venise (Little Venice) with its small canals reminiscent of Italy's Venice, Maison Pfister, one of Colmar's oldest houses, and Maison des Têtes, a Renaissance building decorated with faces. Our third stop on the tour is Kaysersberg. Kaysersberg is a charming part of the Alsace region, a town dating back to the Middle Ages. It is famous for its colorful houses, narrow streets, and historic character. Especially the Château de Kaysersberg castle, dating from the 13th century, is one of the town's most prominent symbols. The Sainte-Croix Church located in the town center stands out with its Gothic architecture. After our tour, we move to our final stop, Riquewihr, one of the most enchanting cities of Alsace, known for its numerous half-timbered houses that give the town its charm. This historic village captivates visitors with its old houses decorated with colorful flowers, narrow streets, and a medieval atmosphere surrounded by walls. During our tour, we will also see the ruins of Riquewihr Castle and walk along the village's old walls to experience the medieval atmosphere. After our tour, we transfer to our hotel in Strasbourg. Overnight stay at our hotel in Strasbourg or its surroundings.
Day 2: Strasbourg – Luxembourg
After the breakfast we will have at the hotel, we set off towards Luxembourg. Upon arrival, our city tour of Luxembourg begins. After our visit to Trier, we head to Remich, a town known as the most affordable shopping point during our tour. Due to Luxembourg's low-tax policies and its border location, you can purchase products such as chocolate, coffee, and alcoholic beverages very cheaply here. Finally, we visit Schengen, the point where the borders of Germany, France, and Luxembourg meet, where the agreement on free movement abolishing passport controls between European Union member states was signed. In this village, which is one of Europe's important wine regions, you will have the opportunity to taste local wines and see the monument and building where the Schengen Agreement was signed.
