Rome
ISTANBUL – ROME
We meet at Sabiha Gökçen Airport’s international departures terminal three hours before the flight. After baggage, ticket, and boarding procedures, following our flight to Rome on AJET Airlines’ scheduled service, we transfer to our private bus waiting for us at the airport and then depart for a panoramic city tour. Rome, once a magical city shimmering with endless splendor and shaped by the winds of history, has been home to the magnificence of its emperors, the courage of gladiators, and the highest forms of art. On this tour, we will see Castel Sant’Angelo, where Cem Sultan was imprisoned. Castel Sant’Angelo was originally built by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum, and was later converted into a fortress. During the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, it was used as a kind of prison and papal stronghold. Another place we will see in Rome is the Colosseum, in the heart of the city, carrying the spirit of ancient times. In this massive arena, brave gladiators and wild animals once engaged in epic battles amid the cheers of the crowd. After our visit to the Colosseum, as we approach the Trevi Fountain, made famous by the film La Dolce Vita, the melody of water echoes among the dazzling statues. When you make a wish and toss a coin into the fountain, the magic of Rome never lets you go. Because they say that anyone who comes here once will definitely return someday. Guests who wish may join the Roman Monuments Tour (45€), which will be arranged as an extra by our guide. On our tour, in the imperial city of Rome, which shaped European civilization and bears witness to 23 centuries of history, we will see the ancient Pantheon temple, one of the city’s oldest monuments, Piazza Navona with its Baroque architecture and famous fountain, which has become the city’s most famous square, the Trevi Fountain, where legend says anyone who throws in a coin will return to Rome, the Spanish Steps, famous for its street artists, and VATICAN, the center of Catholic Christianity and the Pope’s home (St. Peter’s Square and Basilica), among the places to be seen. In the evening, return to our hotel and free time for rest.

After breakfast, we set off for our Siena, San Gimignano, and Pisa tour. The first stop on our tour is Pisa, the romantic Italian city steeped in history. Of course, the first thing that comes to everyone's mind is the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Famous worldwide for its leaning stance, this tower is located in Piazza dei Miracoli, that is, the Square of Miracles. This square dazzles not only with the tower but also with the magnificent Duomo Cathedral and Baptistery made of white marble. Each of them showcases the artistic and architectural richness of medieval Italy. After seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the nearby Square of Miracles, we set off for San Gimignano. These towers were built to show the power and wealth of the old noble families. Piazza del Duomo is the center of the town's social and religious life. Here stands the San Gimignano Cathedral, built in the 12th century. Inside, you can see magnificent frescoes reflecting the spirit of medieval Italy. Right next to the cathedral is the Town Hall (Palazzo del Popolo). Our next stop is Piazza della Cisterna. This charming square takes its name from the old water cistern located in the center. With its stone buildings and historical structures, the square gives you the feeling of walking through a time tunnel. Here, you can browse small shops selling local products and handmade souvenirs, and taste one of the world's most delicious ice creams at the famous gelateria on the corner of the square (Gelateria Dondoli). After our tour, we head to Siena. When you arrive in Siena, where neighborhood culture still survives, the first place we will see is Piazza del Campo, the heart of the city. This wide, sloping square is considered one of the most beautiful squares in the world. In the center of the square is a marble fountain called Fonte Gaia. The square hosts the famous Palio di Siena horse race, held twice a year. This race is an exciting event in which horses from 17 different contrade (neighborhoods) compete. Siena Cathedral (Duomo di Siena) is also among the places to see. This magnificent Gothic structure is covered in white and green marble.
