We begin exploring Fes Medina. In Fes, after walking through Bab-el Makhzen, the monumental gate of the royal palace, and the surrounding Jewish quarter, Mellah, we continue our tour through the maze-like streets of the historic Medina. The Attarine Madrasa, the Karaouine University, Nejarine Square, the bazaar where jewelry and copper goods unique to Morocco are sold, and the tannery, established near the Fes River and still continuing traditional leather processing today, are among the places we will see.
