1. DAY ISTANBUL - BELGRADE Meeting with our valued guests at Istanbul Airport. Departure to Belgrade with Turkish Airlines scheduled flight. Upon arrival in Belgrade, we depart for a city tour by our private bus waiting for us. During our panoramic city tour, we see the daily life of the city, important buildings, and the buildings of the Ministry of the Interior, which are said to have been deliberately left in the middle of the city and bombed by NATO. As we continue our tour on foot, we also see Bayraklı Mosque, Belgrade Fortress, Damat Ali Pasha Tomb, Clock Tower, Sokullu Mehmet Pasha Fountain, Military Museum, Istanbul Gate, Zindan Gate, Leopold Gate, Stefan Lazarević Monument, Nebojša Tower, Castle Square, Saborna Church, Republic Square, Terazije Square, and Tašmajdan. We complete our city tour with a walk on Knez Mihailova Street, considered the heart of the city. After the tour, transfer to our hotel and check-in to rooms. Overnight at our hotel. 2. DAY BELGRADE After breakfast at our hotel, guests who wish may join the full-day extra Karlovci & Novi Sad tour. Karlovci & Novi Sad Tour - (75 Euro per person) First, we visit Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, the capital of the Vojvodina Province in northern Serbia. After a photo break with a magnificent view of Novi Sad from the fortress, we proceed to the center of Novi Sad. During our walking tour in the city, where Albert Einstein also lived for a period of time, we will see Liberty Square, the Svetozar Miletić Monument, the Catholic Cathedral, the Orthodox St. George Cathedral, St. Nicholas Church, and the Synagogue panoramically. After the tour, we head to Sremski Karlovci (Karlovci), a town that also holds an important place in our history. With a history dating back to 7000 B.C. and always having held an important place in history, the town hosted the first Serbian secondary school and higher education institution. Other sights we will see in Karlovci, which was the center of the Serbian Orthodox Church until 1922, include the town hall, Catholic Church, and Fountain of the Four Lions. The town also has an important place in Ottoman history due to the Treaty of Karlowitz signed in 1699, which marked the beginning of the decline of the Ottoman Empire and the first major treaty in which large territories were lost. We also visit the Peace Chapel located on the hill where the treaty was signed. After free time here, we end our tour. 3. DAY BELGRADE After breakfast at our hotel, guests who wish may join the extra Nikola Tesla Museum & Tito’s Mausoleum & Zemun tour. Nikola Tesla Museum & Tito’s Mausoleum & Zemun Tour - (70 Euro per person) On this tour, we first go to the Nikola Tesla Museum. Dedicated to the Serbian-born scientist, inventor of alternating current, the Nikola Tesla Museum was established in 1952. In this museum, more than 160,000 original documents about Tesla’s work and life, over 2,000 books and magazines, and many photographs, drawings, plans, and instruments are exhibited. In addition to this collection, interactive presentations are also offered to highlight the scientist’s contributions to technology. Then we visit the tomb of Josip Broz Tito, who was elected President of Yugoslavia on January 13, 1953, transformed Yugoslavia into a Socialist Federal Republic, was made president for life in 1974, and died in 1980. The mausoleum is located in a single-story building called the House of Flowers, in a white sarcophagus. Here, excerpts from Tito’s life and some of his personal belongings are also exhibited. Finally, we depart for Zemun. Historically autonomous and now part of Belgrade’s New Belgrade district, Zemun is like a city within a city. Located on the banks of the Danube, opposite Belgrade Fortress, this town is home to Ušće Fortress, Gardoš Hill, and Gardoš Tower. The area, which bears Austrian architectural influences, is a pleasant place to spend time with its cobblestone streets and narrow lanes. Zemun was also once a fishing settlement, and today the fishing huts have been restored and converted into restaurants. After the tour, we provide free time. Then transfer to our hotel. Guests who wish may join the Serbian Night tour organized by our guide. Serbian Night Tour - (70 Euro per person) On this tour, we will taste Serbian appetizers and dishes in Belgrade’s famous bohemian street, Skadarlija, and spend an enjoyable evening accompanied by local music. After the tour, transfer to the hotel. Overnight at our hotel. 4. DAY BELGRADE – ISTANBUL Wake-up call in the morning, room check-out, and free time until the transfer time after breakfast. At the time specified by our guide, meet and transfer to Belgrade Airport. After check-in procedures, depart for Istanbul on Turkish Airlines scheduled flight.
